BOARD OF TRUSTEES – The Terrell County School Board serves the district without pay, giving countless hours each month to the betterment
of the students. Here, Sanderson Elementary student Jacob Luevano provided refreshments for a recent meeting. Shown from left were
Superintendent Gary Hamilton, Board Member Sandy Pierce, Board Secretary Johnnie Couch, Board President Ada Lee Robbins and Vice President
Eddie Benavidez. Not shown were Cheryl Seidel, Neto Calzada and James Chapoy.
SHOP CLASS – Shop teacher Jon Tom Lowrance is anxious to get into his new classroom, nearing completion just east of the present junior
high school building. The “Vocational Building” will provide more elbow room for Lowrance and his students to do their creative “thing.”
It is being provided as part of a $14 million school bond issue.
SAND PILE – Crews from Mid-Tex of Midland and their subcontractors are hard at work on several projects under a $14 million Terrell
County ISD bond issue. One of the last to be completed will be a new field house east of the main football field at Eagle Stadium.
Right now, it’s just a bunch of dirt because work could not start until after the football season. But when it’s done, the facility
will have dressing rooms for boys and girls, a weight room, offices, public rest rooms and a concession stand.
