A memorable Christmas

It was back to school this week after students and faculty enjoyed a two week Christmas/New Years vacation.

Students shared their favorite Christmas gifts and memories with the News Leader this week. 

Jacob Benavidez got a pool table, Travis Roberts got a red Chevy Avalanche and Amber Bon received a necklace and ring from her boyfriend Robert Montalvo.

Darren Seidel got a deer mount, Jerica Blackmon received an Mp3 player and Blakeney Chriesman got a new phone.

Sarah Sivils got a new cowboy hat and rhinestone belt, Jake Hall had “lots of fun” on his break and Jonathan Calzada got a new truck.

Javier Garcia got to spend time with family and received a camera, Tiffany Blackmon got a necklace and Brittany Pacheco got jewelry.

Tim and Joseph Hopkins got to take a vacation to Los Angeles and San Diego, CA, Lizette Ramirez got to spend time with her boyfriend Hector and Ashley Woosley got a visit and a necklace from her best friend Danae Fisher.

Abraham Orozco visited Los Alamos, Coah., about 100 miles south of Ciudad Acuña, Dryden Baker got reloading equipment and Daniella Garza received a laptop.

Ernestina Gonzalez got a new pair of boots and Ralston Rosas got a calendar and a pocket knife.

Brianna Johnson got a necklace made by her dad and had the opportunity to fly on an airplane for the first time, flying from Midland to Dallas to visit former Sandersonite Taylor Johnson, no relation.

Cordell Lawson got boots, a computer and a new girlfriend. David Bon saw his sister chased by a deer and Casey Couch got his rims painted.

Roxanna Rodriguez got to spend time with her family, Alan Marquez said he had “too much Red Bull” and Julianna Larrinaga got to see “Avatar” in 3-D and a necklace from her best friend.

Kelly Lomas got money, L.A. Galvan got Transformer PJs and Juliana Castro gave a cookie to her niece Corina Grace, who got it all over her face.

Noemi Nuñez went to Houston to spend time with family, Cameron Baker learned that shooting a small propane tank makes a big bang and Andrew Woosley moved out of his parents’ house.

Isabel Rivera got new boots, William Roberts got chased by the Border Patrol and received an IPOD touch and Roy Shoemaker got “lots of money.”

William was riding with big brother Travis in his new truck when a Border Patrol helicopter was looking for reported illegal aliens and agents on the ground mistook the teens for their prey. 

Ashley Hagelgans got movies, Chris McDonald got clothes, Robert Montalvo got an Underarmor hoodie and Shawn Stegall got a Fender bass guitar and an amp.
