TOE TAPPERS – Rick and Jimmy – Rick Ruiz on guitar and Jimmy Villalpardo on drums – were the first guests on Toe Tappin’ Tuesday this
week at the Sanderson Community Building. They are part of a larger Grupo de la Paz of Alpine but sometimes appear as a duo. The concert
series is provided every September by the Sanderson Arts and Education Alliance at the Pavilion in Bicentennial Park. It moved inside
this week because of rain.
QUARTERBACK MENTOR - Jason Johnson, a graduate assistant coach for Wayne Schroeder’s Sul Ross State University football staff, uses his quarterbacking experience to help receivers gain insight on the quarterback’s mindset. He played high school football in Palmetto, FL, was a quarterback in junior college and at Western Kentucky University, then competed with the Odessa Roughnecks in the Intense Football League. He was hired as a graduate assistant while working on his Master’s degree in Physical Education at SRSU
